Meat and Bone Meal

Meat and Bone Meal Supplier in India

Meat and Bone Meal (MBM), also known as Poultry Feed Supplement, is produced by rendering and sterilising animal soft tissues and bones under controlled heat. It is a concentrated source of crude protein, essential amino acids and key minerals — making it one of the most widely used animal-origin feed ingredients across the industry.

Cherry Foods is a Meat and Bone Meal Supplier in India — supplying 100% sterilised, unadulterated, pure and fresh MBM to poultry feed, aqua feed and pet food manufacturers.

What Cherry Foods Supplies

As a Meat and Bone Meal Supplier in India. here’s what sets our MBM apart

100% Sterilised MBM

Sterilisation means our MBM is processed under controlled high-heat conditions — above 130°C under pressure — destroying all pathogens, bacteria and harmful microorganisms present in raw animal material. The result is a microbiologically safe product with a low microbial count, safe for feed use and with a reliable shelf life.

Pure — No Adulterants

We supply unadulterated MBM with no blood meal addition. Blood meal is commonly mixed in to inflate protein readings — but it raises microbial count, reduces shelf life and results in a visibly darker colour and altered texture. Our MBM is light, consistent and exactly what the spec sheet says.

Fresh Production

A product can be pure but still old stock. We supply MBM that is both pure in composition and recently produced — not old warehouse inventory. Fresh production means intact nutritional value, reliable shelf life and better microbial safety from the date of supply.

Note on protein claims

Genuine MBM protein ranges between 42–45%. If a supplier is offering above 45% — it is worth asking how. Higher readings typically indicate blood meal has been mixed in, which compromises microbial safety, shelf life and overall product quality.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Yes. All Meat and Bone Meal,  also known as Poultry Feed Supplement, supplied by Cherry Foods is 100% sterilised. Our MBM is processed under controlled high-heat conditions above 133°C under pressure for a minimum of 20 minutes, destroying all pathogens, bacteria and harmful microorganisms present in raw animal material. The result is a microbiologically safe product with a consistently low microbial count and a reliable shelf life.

Yes. We supply unadulterated Meat and Bone Meal, no blood meal addition, no artificial protein inflation. Our MBM is light golden brown in colour, consistent in texture and exactly what the COA says. Genuine MBM protein ranges between 42–45%. If a supplier is offering above 45% protein on a regular basis — it is worth asking why.

Blood meal is added by some suppliers to artificially inflate crude protein readings in Meat and Bone Meal. While it raises the protein percentage on paper, it causes serious quality problems:

  1. Darkens colour — genuine MBM is light golden brown. Blood meal addition causes a visibly darker, inconsistent colour which is a direct indicator of adulteration
  2. Increases microbial count — blood meal significantly raises bacterial load, compromising microbiological safety of the material
  3. Reduces shelf life — blood meal accelerates oxidation and spoilage, reducing the safe usable life of the product from manufacture date
  4. Affects odour — adulterated MBM develops an abnormal, stronger odour due to increased bacterial activity
  5. Compromises feed safety — higher microbial count in finished feed directly impacts animal health and performance.
Unadulterated MBM, light in colour, low microbial count, consistent texture, is what Cherry Foods supplies on every batch.
Our Meat and Bone Meal is supplied in the following indicative ranges:

  1. Crude Protein: 42–45%
  2. Phosphorus: 5–7%
  3. Calcium: 10–13%
The calcium to phosphorus ratio in genuine MBM follows natural bone composition. Calcium is approximately 2 to 2.2 times the phosphorus content. This is scientifically consistent with hydroxyapatite, the primary mineral compound in animal bone, where calcium and phosphorus are present in a fixed natural ratio.

This is an important quality indicator. If a supplier consistently guarantees protein above 44% alongside phosphorus above 6% and high calcium, the material is very likely adulterated.

Here is why: MBM quality is a balance between meat content and bone content. Higher meat content means higher protein, but lower bone content means lower phosphorus and calcium.

Higher bone content means higher phosphorus and calcium, but lower protein. Protein and mineral content are inversely related in genuine MBM. A supplier claiming consistently high protein and consistently high phosphorus and calcium simultaneously is not supplying genuine material.

Blood meal addition inflates protein artificially while the elevated minerals come from excess bone, resulting in numbers that cannot coexist naturally.

Our Meat and Bone Meal is sterilised above 133°C which destroys all pathogenic bacteria, fungi and harmful microorganisms present in raw animal material.

The total plate count of our MBM is well within industry standard, and consistently better than non-sterilised or insufficiently processed material.
Some suppliers add acidifiers to their MBM to artificially reduce microbial count readings without proper sterilisation.

We do not. Our low microbial count is a direct result of proper high-heat sterilisation, not additives. Every batch is lab tested and COA is available on request.
